Battle of the Bands, May 17, 6:45 PM- 10:30 PM: We need volunteers to help the night of the event, sponsors for the concession stand and door prizes ($10 gift cards for Starbucks, iTunes, Wawa, Movies, Amazon, and/or anything else a teen would like). For the concession stand, we need the following: 2 packs of hot dogs and buns, boxed ice cream novelties (ice cream sandwiches, ice cream bars, ice cream cones, etc). We also accept cash donations. Flea Market, Saturday, May 18, 8:00 AM-2:30 PM: Come browse for bargains at our flea market on Saturday, May 18. Spaces are $15 and can be reserved by filling out this form. Deadline for reservations is May 10. Vendors must supply own table and chairs and set up starts at 7 AM. Questions may be addressed to Jim Burns at burnsnoga@yahoo.com.
Flea Market Food table, May 18th, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM: We are asking for donations of baked goods for the flea market. Cookies, muffins, or cupcakes are good choices. Please wrap all items for individual sale and drop off Saturday morning (or e-mail us for other arrangements.
Pentecost, May 19: Fr. Ryan is looking for folks who are comfortable reading in languages other than English to participate once again in the Acts 2 reading on Pentecost. Please get in touch with him if you are willing to participate and what language you would like to read. He will provide the reading for you so you don't have to worry about that! DON’T FORGET TO WEAR RED!
Corpus Christi Solemn Eucharist and Benediction: St. George’s will celebrate Corpus Christi on May 30 at 7:00 PM. St. George's Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament members invite the whole parish and surrounding community to join them for a special Solemn Eucharist and Benediction in thanksgiving for the gift of the Eucharist.
Outreach Opportunity, Aid for Friends: Our next Aid for Friends cook-in will be on Sunday June 2, after the 10:00 AM service. We will assembling our signature dish, meatloaf with gravy, beans and noodles. Please see the sign up sheet on the notice board. Note that we'd like you to use the St George's recipe if you are going to provide a meatloaf. Copies of the recipe can be found on the bulletin board.
Wednesday Night Bible Study: REVELATION: Visions for the Church: Fascinated by the so called "end times?" Read a few novels featuring this biblical end game? Saw a movie or a tv show or two and had some questions? Come and see what the text actually says, and what its message of hope for the church actually is. Let's wade into this difficult book together, bringing our questions, our doubts, our fears, but most of all, our hopes. Let's leave no page unturned. Most of all, let's remember the name of the book is singular. Guide books are $20. Bring a friend, invite an neighbor.
Youth Group Trip to Eagle Adventure Camp: August 12th – 16th. If your child(ren) is (are) interested in going, we will need your reservation and a 50% non-refundable deposit, totaling $154.50, by May 26th. Any questions, please see Fr. Ryan.
Sunday Morning Forum: Come join us as we study and reflect on the Sunday readings which come from The Acts of the Apostles. You can grab a cup of coffee, a snack, and we meet in Father Ryan's office at 9:15 AM. We will complete each session by 9:40. All are welcome to attend.
